16-digit number + PIN
Both formats use the same card number and 4-digit PIN system for redemption β physical cards just have it printed, digital ones arrive by message.
No expiration, ever
Unlike some retail gift cards, there’s no “use by” date and no dormancy fee that eats away at the balance over time.
Balance carries over
Spend part of it today, the rest sits on the card untouched until your next visit β no need to use it all in one sitting.
Checking a balance
Three ways to do it, in order of speed.
Online
On Olive Garden’s own site, in the gift card section: enter the 16-digit card number and 4-digit PIN. Balance shows instantly β this is the fastest method.
By phone
Call the automated balance line and follow the prompts. No wait for a live agent just to check a number.
In-restaurant
Hand the card to your server before ordering β they can check the balance at the terminal without running a charge against it.
If a balance looks wrong: keep your purchase receipt and contact support directly. Balance discrepancies get investigated, but reliably only with proof of purchase on hand β this is worth knowing before you toss the receipt.
Redeeming it, by order type
The mechanics change slightly depending on how you’re ordering β worth knowing before
you’re standing at the counter.
Dine-in
Hand the physical card or show the eGift card on your phone. Server keys in the number and PIN; any remaining balance carries over automatically.
To-Go / online orders
Enter the card number and PIN at checkout on Olive Garden’s site or app, the same as any stored payment method.
Delivery apps
Third-party delivery platforms generally don’t accept Olive Garden gift cards directly β redemption is limited to Olive Garden’s own site, app, or in-restaurant.
Catering orders
Gift cards work for catering placed through Olive Garden’s own site β enter the number and PIN at checkout just like a standard order.
Splitting payment
Part of the check can go on the gift card, the rest on another payment method β tell your server before they run the transaction so it’s processed correctly.
Stacking multiple cards
Several gift cards can be applied to one check or one online order. Ask staff to process them in sequence rather than assuming the system does it automatically.
Alcohol restriction
In some states, gift cards can’t be used to pay for alcohol β that’s a state-law restriction, not an Olive Garden policy, so it varies by where you’re dining.
Bulk orders & seasonal offers
Two things worth knowing before assuming a price or promotion you saw elsewhere is
currently active.
Bulk / corporate orders
Orders over $500 go through a separate process meant for employee rewards, client gifting, or events β not the standard consumer checkout flow.
Seasonal bonus cards
During some holiday windows, buying a card in a certain amount has come with a smaller bonus card for a future visit. These are limited-time and change every year.
Confirm before assuming
Reseller and marketplace sites sometimes advertise promotions that aren’t currently running. Olive Garden’s own site is the only reliable place to confirm what’s active right now.
A few ways people get more value out of one
Combine with the lunch menu.
If the recipient is using it for a solo lunch, lunch portions and pricing stretch a smaller card further than a dinner visit would.
Pair it with an e-club signup.
Joining Olive Garden’s e-club is free and often surfaces birthday and sign-up offers that stack with a gift card balance.
Check grocery store fuel-point promos.
Some grocery chains occasionally offer bonus loyalty points for buying restaurant gift cards, including Olive Garden’s, at the register.
Split a family-style order.
A family-style tray split between two people often works out cheaper per person than two individual entrΓ©es β useful if the card balance is tight.
Buy at the actual denomination you’ll use.
Custom amounts avoid leaving an awkward small balance sitting unused on the card for months.
